Joshua is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music degree at the University of Auckland, studying violin with Stephen Larsen. A recipient of a University of Auckland scholarship for “academic excellence, all-round ability, and leadership potential”, Joshua has a passion for helping people learn. Joshua has a wide range of ensemble playing experience; he is currently the Principal Second Violin of the Auckland Youth Orchestra, and a member of the University of Auckland Symphony Orchestra.

In 2017, Joshua was also a member of the NZSO National Youth Orchestra. Outside of violin playing, Joshua has been successful in his conducting studies, placing First in Class for his Stage One and Stage Two papers, and plays in brass and wind bands.
