Pianist, composer, accompanist and teacher, Fumie Kiuchi, has performed in New Zealand, Japan and United States. She began her classical piano performance studies and solfege lessons at an early age and graduated from the Tokyo Metropolitan Art High School majoring classical piano performance. Continuing her musical studies at the Tokyo College of Music, Fumie received scholarship and her classical piano performance Bachelor’s degree.
She also competed as a finalist in the Takarazuka Bega Competition in Japan. After her graduation, she studied Classical,American contemporary music and improvisation at the Longy School of Music in Boston and Jazz at The New School in New York.
As an educator, Fumie has wealth of teaching and ensemble experience. She has also collaborated with and accompanied ballet dancers and composed numerous music compositions for their concerts. Overall, she enjoys working with students and developing their musical ability.
