Esther Hunter picked up the flute in high-school upon the suggestion she learn a more “social” instrument, and has been hooked ever since. Since then she has been actively involved in music groups across the country, and is the current concertmaster for the Gold award-winning University of Auckland Concert Band and the New Zealand Youth Symphonic Winds.
Esther is a 2017 flautist/piccolo player in the Auckland Youth Orchestra, and currently studying a Bachelor of Music at the University of Auckland with Prof. Uwe Grodd. Esther has considerable experience in chamber groups, concert bands, pit orchestras and orchestras, and holds an ATCL diploma in Flute Performance. She is passionate about helping children develop a love for music, and aims to grow their skills in all aspects of musical knowledge and instrument technique.
