Alistair Greenwood
Alistair has a strong passion for both flute performance and music education. While studying at the University of Auckland under Professor Uwe Grodd, he was awarded the Les and Sonia Woodwind Scholarship and graduated with a Masters Degree in Performance flute in 2008.
His Studies led him to perform in masterclasses with noted flautists Robert Aitken and Elena Duran. During his studies, Alistair was privileged to play 1st flute for the University of Auckland Orchestra and was also a soloist with the Auckland Youth Orchestra.
Since graduating, Alistair has devoted his time to help develop and strengthen music programmes for schools in New Zealand. Previous to his current role as School Manager for Chiron Group NZ, he was Programme Director at EXCEL School of Performing Arts, Auckland, and prior to this was the Course Director for a music degree programme at Vision College NZ, Christchurch. Alistair is also studying to become a Feldenkrais Practitioner.
